5 Months old

Avery Loghan, what a happy little peanut. She still amazes me at how easy going she is. Avery rarely cries and is always smiling.  She is adjusting to daycare 3 days a week and for the most part is doing well.  She is the only infant so that helps (I am not a big fan of having her in daycare at such a young age).  Starting back to work has been a bit of a change. I think it has been more difficult for me just adjusting to a new schedule =), but I am slowly getting there.

Some firsts: Talking constantly and starting to giggle more and more.  Anything and everything goes in her mouth, she is a big fan of sucking on her fists, thumbs, and toes =).  She continues to love to roll, starting to roll more and more.  She loves her jumparoo and her exersaucer.  She prefers to sleep on her stomach and absolutely loves the bath.  She has also started to hold her own bottle!! Slow down Avery!

Avery also started rice cereal this month and absolutely loves it, as soon as she sees her spoon her mouth is open and ready.

2nd part of summer

Wow, the second half of summer zoomed by, it was crazy. With trips to the park, lake, and another trip to Seattle we had a wonderful end to our summer before I started back to work this past week.  It has been quite the adjustment for me, but hopefully sooner than later I will get back into the swing of things and not be so tired =).

4 Months

Happy 4 months sweet Avery. Avery has been such a joy. I cannot get over what a calm, chill baby she is. She is so content all of the time and absolutely loves her sister.  Avery loves to watch her sister and Reese loves an audience these days so its nice.  So far, Reese has been the only one to get Avery to laugh.

Avery loves bath time, continues to love tummy time, enjoys going on walks and loves playing with her feet/toes.  She has mastered rolling over both ways and enjoys grabbing anything and everything that is close in her reach.

Avery's 4 month stats
11.9 lbs (10%)
24" (50%)

First half of summer

I have been enjoying staying home with the girls. Reese is at such a fun age and Avery is just a trooper along for the ride =).  Reese likes to stay very busy so we have been having play dates, playing outside (she loves the outdoors), going to parks, splash pads, and just recently went to the West side to visit family.  Reese had nonstop entertainment for 4 days. I was a little nervous driving by myself with both girls, but overall it was a breeze. Avery slept most of the way and Reese was pretty good. We sang lots of songs, looked for animals, had lots of snacks, and a few stops so she could go to the bathroom.  Overall summer has been great so far, looking forward to the rest of the summer with more play dates, day trips, and hanging out with my little family.

Reese loved Aaron and Marina's wedding. She loved to dance and play in the bouncy castles at the reception

Still not quite sure what to think about splash pads

3 months already????

Crazy that Avery is 3 months old already. She continues to be a happy, smiley little girl. She is very content most of the time and only seems to cry when she is hungry or tired. So far she is a great traveler and has become quite the sleeper just like her sister. Most days she is sleeping about 12 hours a night, definitely cannot complain about that, with 3 naps (1 good nap and 2 mediocre naps).  Avery is very alert and loves to look around, kick her legs and arms and hang out on her side. She has mastered the skill of rolling over from her stomach to her back early on (about 1 month) and is getting close to rolling over from her back to her front, but often times she makes it to her side and is happy with that position.  Other firsts this month:

blowing bubbles, playing with her tongue, discovering her fists...and thumb...starting to squeal a little more, recognizing mom and dad.
Loves her tummy time

The bumbo...she likes it for a short period of time, just like her sister

4th of July

Just a few pictures of the girls on 4th of July. It was a busy day with a wedding rehearsal, hanging out with grandparents, a BBQ, lots of kids for Reese to play with and of course fireworks. Reese was obsessed with the fireworks and every time they went off she would jump up and down and yell USA, it was pretty cute.

2 Months

Our little Miss Avery is 2 months old. Crazy to think that 2 months have already passed. She is an amazing little girl.  For the most part she is very relaxed and loves to smile.  Avery had her 2 month check up and she is a petite little thing. I was thinking she was going to be bigger than Reese at two months, nope I was wrong.
Avery's 2 month stats:
8 lb. 13 oz. (10%)
21 1/4 inches tall (25%)

The Dr. said she is petite, but not to worry that could just be how she is going to be =).  She loves to smile and coo (talk to us) all the time. We are still working on naps (she is great in the car with naps and in her swing or cuddling), but not a big fan of taking naps in her crib. At night though she is a champ in her crib, so not sure what the difference is. Reese was the same way. To be honest though, I would much rather have her sleeping in her crib at night. She sleeps from about 8:30-8:30ish with 2 feedings, and takes roughly 3 naps.
