5 Months

It is official....we have an active little one on our hands. She has started moving...I like to call it a seal crawl, Nate calls it an army crawl. Reese is a determined little girl, now that she is on the move she of course likes to get into everything she shouldn't be =). Also, taking her out to eat is not as easy as it used to be, she likes to grab everything!

Reese is still a petite little thing. Everyone always comments on how much bigger she looks in pictures than in person. She is still in the 10% for weight, weighing in at 12 lb. 7 oz. She is such a fun and happy baby though, she loves going places (although not a huge fan of car rides right now) and seeing people. Nate and I recently went to Seattle to visit family and to celebrate our 4 year anniversary, crazy to think. It was our first night away together without Reese. My mom was more than happy to watch her =).

I start back to work next week, a little nervous to leave all day, but she will be in good hands with Nate Monday through Thursday and with a friend of mine Renee on Fridays. Wish us luck (okay, really just me because Reese I am sure will be fine =)).

Some firsts this month:
*Swimming in the lake
*Going on a boat

*Started vegetables (sweet potatoes and yams so far...she isn't quite sure what to think of them, but I mixed them with some cereal and she seems to enjoy them better)
*Semi-crawling
*A lot more vocal (loves to scream and "talk" to anyone that is around)
*Loves the dogs and now that she can move...the dogs are not quite sure what to think of her.
*Sitting up (for short periods of time)
*Loves kids

4 Months

Another month has come and gone....we are definitely enjoying the nice weather.  Reese loves being outside and exploring new surroundings. She is getting to be so much fun  to play with her and watch her explore. It is amazing to me how much she changes day to day, especially over the last month.  We had her four month check up today and the doctor was so impressed by her muscle control....I call her a spitfire and very active...the doctor called her motivated =). Some new things this month.


*Prefers sleeping on her stomach or side....she is quite the wiggle worm these days (sleeps consistently from 8-9 at night until 7:30-8ish) Everyone says we are lucky...I think its our parenting ;)
*Sucking her entire fist, recently has discovered her thumb!!! It is really cute, but not sure I want her to get into this habit.
*Loves playing with her feet and toys (realized she could suck on her toes too)
*Extremely alert and loves to watch people...she smiles at pretty much anyone who gives her attention, but definitely knows her mom and dad.
*Overall is a very happy baby, really only fusses when she is hungry and trying to fight taking a nap. Naps are getting better, most days she takes 3 naps ranging anywhere from 30minutes to 2 hours


Reese put on quite the show for the doctor today rolling over, standing, sucking on her toes, talking, and smiling. She is still quite the petite little girl. She is 24 3/4" tall (75th percentile) and 11.7lbs (10th percentile)..The doctor was not too concerned, but thinks it would be a good idea to swing in at 5 months to have a weight check. She recommended starting some cereal (already did =)) and thinks that maybe she would like the banana with cereal because its a little sweeter and see how she does.  


She has met a few new people this month....My friend Chelsea and her husband Jason and little guy Gunnar and our friends Mike and Amberly and their little guy Finnley, a good buddy from college Ricky, and a friend of mine Jodi.

3 Months

3 months already...I feel like time is really flying by.  Reese is getting so big and becoming so much more independent. We recently went and visited my family in Puyallup and Reese was able to meet all of them at a family potluck that my mom put together. I was so happy that Reese was finally able to meet them. We also just went to Leavenworth for one of Nate's childhood buddy's weddings. Reese was a champ and did great. I enjoy Leavenworth, but Nate was not a big fan, kind of a bah humbug....guess we will not be visiting there again (as a family). Nate said there were too many people (silly guys).  Other then that Nate and I are just enjoying watching Reese grow and become quite the little spitfire with her high squeals and having preferences already (would much rather stand than sit since she has discovered that).

*Still enjoys making bubbles

*Seems to develop a new sound every day

*Still a great sleeper at night (getting better with naps)

*Loves to smile and hear her own voice

*Gripping rattles and other toys

*Loves putting everything in her mouth. 
*Rolling over from back to stomach.

Miss Independent 

11 weeks

Reese is getting so big, we are about to take our next road trip just her and me to the west side of the state to visit friends and family. This will be the first time that Reese gets to meet a lot of my family and a few of my close friends. She is developing quite the personality and is becoming quite the mamas girl =).  She is still a great sleeper at night and enjoys running errands and visiting with friends. She is always on her best behavior when we are out.  Below are a few recent pictures and a video (it is so hard getting pictures of her, so I have started to take videos of her to get her smiles and her squeals...still working on trying to get her to laugh, we practice every day =).
